A Look Inside: The Catbird Seat

The Catbird Seat, an award-winning restaurant known for its innovative tasting menu, officially reopened in a new location on the fifth floor of the Bill Voorhees Building in the Gulch neighborhood. The Catbird Seat was previously located in the Midtown neighborhood. Since 2011, this restaurant, created by Strategic Hospitality, has played a key role in shaping Nashville’s culinary scene through its ever-evolving dining experience. The Catbird Seat is now led by chefs Andy Doubrava and Tiffani Ortiz. Guests can expect a 15-course tasting menu showcasing seasonal ingredients, local produce, and regional flavors. Reservations open on the first of each month for the entire following month at noon CST. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside.


The Interior

The expansive new interior, designed by Dryden Studio, features elevated and modern design elements. Their signature U-shaped counter, crafted with Tennessee Pink Marble, remains the focal point of the restaurant and provides seating for twenty-five guests. A new notable feature is the Wine Lounge, an intimate space where guests can enjoy pre- and post-dinner drinks. The lounge area has cozy seating, vibrant greenery, and a full bar offering exclusive cocktails.


The Exterior

The Catbird Seat is situated on the fifth floor of the Bill Voorhees Building, which is a part of the Paseo South Gulch development. The entrance to the lobby floor is located at the back of the building. Down the hall, guests can find The Patterson House, a popular craft cocktail bar, also created by Strategic Hospitality. Validated parking is available at the garage within Prima at Paseo South Gulch.


The Menu

Under the direction of Chefs Doubrava and Ortiz, The Catbird Seat continues to serve its signature 15-course tasting menu, highlighting seasonal and local ingredients. Guests can expect an extraordinary menu no matter the time of year, served in a party-like atmosphere with high energy and music. The tasting menu is $165 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Expertly crafted beverage pairings to complement each dish, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, are available for an additional cost.
