The Patterson House, an upscale cocktail bar originally established in 2009, officially reopened in a new location on the fifth floor of the Bill Voorhees Building in the Gulch neighborhood. The Patterson House was previously located in the Midtown neighborhood. The bar opened at the new space on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Created by Strategic Hospitality, The Patterson House is one of the first bars in Nashville to focus on craft cocktails and has received national recognition, including consecutive James Beard Foundation nominations for Outstanding Bar Program. The new location offers the same classic cocktails, a bigger food menu, and a stylish, updated design. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside.
The Interior
The interior, designed by Dryden Studio, reflects the atmosphere of the original location while incorporating fresh details. Guests can expect design elements such as the iconic tin ceiling, glowing chandeliers, rich cherry wood walls, and tall windows draped with elegant curtains. The bar serves as the focal point, giving guests an up-close look at the bartenders’ craftsmanship. A notable new feature is the Private Bar Room (PBR), a discreet space hidden behind curtains. It features a separate bar and ample seating, making it an ideal setting for private events and gatherings.
The Exterior
The Patterson House is located on the fifth floor of the Bill Voorhees Building, which is a part of the Paseo South Gulch development. The entrance to the lobby floor can be found at the back of the building. Located just steps from The Patterson House, guests will find The Catbird Seat, an immersive 15-course tasting experience, also created by Strategic Hospitality. Validated parking is available in the garage situated within the Prima at Paseo South Gulch building.
The Menu
The Patterson House has refreshed both its food and drink menu. There are now two distinct drink menus. The first menu is more modern with nine rotating original drinks, like the Mango Negroni, Birdseed Aperitif, and Jasmine Sage Smash. The second menu honors the classics with 150 rotating drinks across 12 categories. Each cocktail is made with quality ingredients and house-cut ice, staying true to the bar’s signature style. There’s also a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, as well as beer and wine.
For food, guests can expect a variety of options ranging from light snacks to full entrees. The opening food menu was created by chefs Andy Doubrava and Tiffani Ortiz from The Catbird Seat, along with Josh Habiger of Strategic Hospitality. Some of the food menu highlights include the Broth Burger (Bear Creek Farms dry-aged beef, horseradish, and Kenny’s cheese on a Martin’s roll, served with smoked onion jus), Hearth-Grilled Asparagus & Leeks (topped with onion soubise, crispy fennel chili flake sausage, and fresh greens), and the 16oz Pork Chop (served with smoked trout roe in a bright coriander-herb whey sauce).
