Tucked inside a grand Southern mansion in the heart of Music City, Jimmy Kelly’s Steakhouse has been a Nashville tradition for generations. The restaurant has long set the bar for what a classic American steakhouse should be.
When Jimmy Kelly opened the doors back in 1934, the country was still clawing its way out of the Great Depression and celebrating the end of Prohibition. His promise was simple: serve a great steak, pour a generous whiskey, and make every guest feel at home. That promise built a legacy that’s lasted more than 90 years.
In 2022, the iconic steakhouse began a new chapter under local ownership. The goal was to keep everything people have always loved about Jimmy Kelly’s while updating the space for a new generation of diners. The renovations were extensive—an expanded kitchen, remodeled dining rooms, new bars, upgraded restrooms, a beautiful upstairs patio, a lively happy hour, and a refreshed wine list.
Today, Jimmy Kelly’s continues to blend timeless Southern hospitality with an elevated dining experience. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, you can still count on a great steak, a generous pour, and the warm welcome that’s defined this Nashville classic for nearly a century.
