The Cardinal, a Belgian-inspired bar and eatery from husband-and-wife-team Tony and Caroline Galzin (Nicky’s Coal Fired), is slated to open fall 2017 in The Nations neighborhood.

The 3,500-square-foot space will embody the style of the 1920’s Art Deco period. A vintage wood and formica bar is the centerpiece, spanning 23 feet with brass and gold trim and mirrored backing. There will also be dark wood banquets, wood tile ceilings, and an outdoor patio.

The Cardinal’s extensive beverage program will have a heavy emphasis on Belgian beers in addition to creative cocktails. The Northern European-style menu will change frequently, but guests can expect options like smoked fish, charcuterie, poutine, and a wood-fired burger.

“The Cardinal is an idea we have been working on since first moving here in 2012, and we’re thrilled to see it finally coming to life,” explained The Galzins. “We think this is the perfect opportunity to bring a new drinking and dining experience to Nashville, and couldn’t be happier to be working on another project in the Nations.”
