Nicky’s Coal Fired, an Italian-inspired restaurant, opened in The Nations on Thursday, December 8, 2016. It’s the latest concept from Tony and Caroline Galzin, the husband and wife duo originally behind Fifty First Kitchen & Bar. Nashville Guru got a look inside.

The Interior

Nicky’s is located in the Stocking 51 Building, previously home to the Belle Meade Hosiery Mill. The space has been restored and redesigned, incorporating the building’s industrial features like textured brick walls, plate-glass steel windows, and raw beams. There’s room for approximately 100 guests, including an outdoor patio.

The Menu

Nicky’s custom-made, four-ton coal fired oven (named “Enrico”) will be the vessel for most of the restaurant’s seasonal cuisine. Coal fired pizzas are the focus of the menu, including seven red and six white style pizza options. Nicky’s menu also includes house-made pastas, charcuterie, cheeses, and desserts like gelato and sorbet. The drink menu will feature European beers, wine on tap, and Italian-inspired cocktails.
