A Look Inside: Sushi Row

Sushi Row officially opened in Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood on December 19, 2025. The elevated sushi concept comes from husband-and-wife team Jason Wallenta and Riley O’Brien, who also brought Dos Santos to Music City. Sushi Row, which has one other location in Colorado, offers a sushi-centric menu in a chic space. It’s one of the hottest sushi destinations in Nashville right now, boasting a 4.9-star rating from over 400 reviewers on Google. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside the buzz-worthy spot.

The Interior

Sushi Row is situated in a 3,300-square-foot space with seating for up to 90 guests in the main dining room and 12 in the private dining room. Upon entering, Kashi light pendants immediately catch your attention. Get a seat at the sushi bar to watch the craft up close, or order a cocktail from the bar area. The interior blends modern design with natural elements, including walnut slab tables and a massive 18-foot communal table (cut from only two trees), reclaimed 150-year-old brick, rustic beams, vintage apothecary cabinets, polished concrete floors, and natural Breccia marble bar tops. Expect an energetic atmosphere, especially suitable for a girls’ night out or an upbeat dinner for two.

The Exterior

There’s a 30-seat outdoor patio overlooking the neighborhood’s main street, Martin Street. On Nashville’s warmer days, pull up a chair under the umbrellas and sip sake while watching the neighborhood go by.

The Menu

Sushi Row’s menu, led by long-time sushi expert and Executive Chef Zaya Altbish, focuses on traditional sushi and Japanese cuisine. Highlights include the Rocco Roll, Hamachi Kama, Tamaki Tacos, and Pork Belly Buns. Many of the dishes are served on natural stone plates, a detail that reinforces the restaurant’s commitment to elevated presentation.
