Sushi | Bar officially opened on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood. The intimate Omakase speakeasy has four other outposts in Austin, Miami, Chicago, and Dallas. This location is also connected to Golden Sound Nashville, one of Music City’s newest cocktail bars, and are both situated in the historic building that was once a recording studio and previously occupied by Barista Parlor Golden Sound.
Guests can expect a two-hour dining experience with a 17-course tasting menu. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday and currently has three seatings per night at 5:00pm, 7:15pm, and 9:30pm, but due to demand, the restaurant has decided to add two more seatings at 5:45pm and 8:00pm in the coming weeks. These additional seatings will be available only on Friday and Saturday beginning Friday, August 16, 2024. Then starting Sunday, September 1, 2024, the additional seatings will be available Wednesday through Sunday.

The Interior
Before the meal begins, guests are greeted in the lounge area with a welcome cocktail from Golden Sound Nashville. The lounge is dimly lit and well styled with couches, chairs, and music-inspired decor including records, books, and photography. Shortly after, guests make their way to the dining room to enjoy a delicious and exquisite menu. The room features twelve seats situated around a sushi counter to make for an unforgettable culinary experience.
The Exterior
The entrance to Sushi | Bar is tucked away on Overton Street. There is a small plaque besides the front door that says “SB.” For parking options, there are multiple paid lots located nearby along with street parking.
The Menu
The two-hour exclusive dining experience is meant to feel like a fun and intimate dinner party amongst friends. While patrons are relaxing in the lounge before the meal begins, the Sushi | Bar team comes out to discuss the menu of that evening. There are top-tier sushi chefs preparing the meal with the freshest fish flown in weekly from Japan. The menu consists of all nigiri and changes seasonally. There is also an option to add on a sake pairing and other beverages to match the menu.
