A Look Inside: Hattie B’s Hot Chicken (Fifth + Broadway)

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is a family-run, fast-casual restaurant renowned for their Nashville hot chicken and Southern hospitality. This new outpost at Nashville’s Fifth + Broadway development marks the eighth location for the concept, which started in Nashville’s Midtown neighborhood in 2012. The Broadway location officially opened on March 6, 2021. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside.

The Interior

The interior at Hattie B’s at Fifth + Broadway features three large garage windows that open to the exterior, high ceilings, and a large mural of the brand’s iconic chicken. Guests can sit along the bar overlooking Broadway or at one of the many two- and four-top tables. There’s a merchandise section at the front with t-shirts, hats, and other hot swag.

The Exterior

It’s easy to spot Hattie B’s vibrant exterior, especially at night when the lights are aglow and diners line the windows. Groups can eat at one of the three large picnic tables on the patio, and smaller parties can pull up barstools along the railing. Parking is easy—just park at the Fifth + Broadway garage and take the elevator up or opt for the Fifth + Broadway valet service when it’s available.

The Menu

The menu at Hattie B’s is rooted in the traditional Southern meat-and-three. The hot chicken is recognized as some of the best hot chicken in the country. With their variety of heat levels—from “Southern” (no heat) to “Shut The Cluck Up!!!” (burn notice)—there’s a way for everyone to experience the hubbub about Hattie B’s. The scratch-made sides include options like red skin potato salad, pimento macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. Guests can close their meal with something sweet like the banana pudding or peach cobbler.

On the beverage side, there’s everything from draft beer to iced tea to refreshing frozen cocktails.
