Black Rabbit, the latest concept from Trey Cioccia (The Farm House), officially opened in the Printer’s Alley area of downtown Nashville on Friday, November 3, 2017. The sophisticated bar focuses on creative cocktails and serves small plates and canapés. Nashville Guru dropped in to get a look inside the revitalized space.

The Interior

Black Rabbit’s interior has an elegant, vintage atmosphere featuring a wide-range of seating, from a sofa to high-top tables to booths. Various artwork adorns the walls, including a mirrored piece from the old Brass Stables gentlemen’s club in Printer’s Alley. Other highlights include original exposed brick, a lounge area with boardgames, and parlor-style live music.

The Exterior

Black Rabbit is located one street over from Printer’s Alley and beside Gray and Dudley and 21c Museum Hotel. Guests enter through a black gate at 218 3rd Avenue North. A small patio will eventually occupy the alleyway between Black Rabbit and 21c.

The Menu

The wood-fired grill is the open kitchen’s centerpiece, where Cioccia and chef de cuisine Chad Kelly prepare vegetables, roasted meats and oysters, and fire-baked breads. Guests can expect a variety of shareable small plates.

Troy Smith spearheads the beverage menu, which includes creative cocktails, wines and beers, including many on draft.
