A Look Inside: Night Train Pizza

Night Train Pizza, a new oven-fired pizza and beer joint, opens in the Gulch on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11am. Night Train Pizza is located at 600 9th Avenue South behind the Icon Building near Rudy’s Jazz Room. The concept comes from Halo Restaurants, the same team behind Local Taco. Nashville Guru got a look inside.

The Interior

Night Train’s décor is a throw-back to your classic pizza restaurant — red and white plaid tablecloths, black chairs, marquee “pizza” signs, and beer cans (lots of beer cans). When guests enter, they immediately notice the two large walls covered in vintage beer cans. The main dining room features a huge pizza sign, TVs, a central bar, and about a dozen four-top tables. Night Train’s revolving oven — a first of its kind in Nashville — is the standout feature, though. The pizzas revolve like a merry-go-round, providing balanced, rapid baking without the frequent, manual rotating of the pizzas by the chef. The pizzas are ready within 3-5 minutes.

The Menu

Night Train is a place to go when you want to focus on pizza and beer. With the exception of a couple salads and meatballs, you won’t find many fillers like wings or mozzarella sticks. Check out the thick Detroit-style pizza called “The Night Train” for something a little different. The drink menu includes wine, liquor, 10 draft beers, and 25+ canned and bottled beers. They also have a couple dessert options, if you have room for more. See the menu.
