Tànsuǒ, a contemporary Chinese restaurant from chef Maneet Chauhan and Morph Hospitality Group, opens on Monday, March 13, 2017 in The North Gulch next to Chauhan Ale & Masala House and across from 12th and Porter. The Asian-inspired restaurant serves Chinese dishes reminiscent of China’s traditional street fare and night markets. Nashville Guru got a look inside the impressive space.
The Interior
The interior was designed by Nashville designer London Parfitt, who also led the design of sister restaurant Chauhan Ale & Masala House. The space features a large abacus railing surrounding the second floor, custom banquettes in the dining area, and stunning light fixtures. There’s capacity for approximately 250 guests in a variety of different sections, including multiple private dining options.

The Menu
The menu, spearheaded by chef Chris Cheung, features traditional dishes like Toishan Pork Sui Mai and Peking Duck, along with Chinese-American dishes like General Tso’s Chicken and Beef & Broccoli. In addition to the incredible cuisine, there’s an extensive beverage program featuring specialty cocktails, wines, sake, draft beer, bottled beer, and a variety of scotch and whiskey. See the menu.
“The rich diversity of the cuisine in Nashville is something that I’m incredibly proud of and I think Tànsuǒ will find a worthy place in Music City’s culinary landscape,” says Chef Chauhan. “Chris is a true master of Chinese cuisine; there is no one else we’d rather partner with on this project.”
