Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint, one of Music City’s most notable barbecue restaurants, opened its fifth location in the SoBro neighborhood on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11am. Martin’s SoBro is located in the previous space occupied by The Rutledge at 410 4th Avenue South. Nashville Guru got a look inside the new restaurant.
The Interior
The massive space features multiple bars, rooms, and an incredible beer garden unlike any other in Nashville. The main restaurant area has several different sections with plenty of room for locals and tourists to enjoy the grub without feeling cramped.
Main Dining Rooms
The Beer Garden & Upstairs Bars
The partially-covered beer garden, accessible via an unnoticeable back stairwell, feels like a greenhouse. There are vibrant plants throughout and fans to keep the air moving. Seating ranges from picnic tables to a lounge-like area with old car seats and bus benches. Guests can get in a game of ping pong, darts or shuffleboard, too.

The Menu
Barbecue enthusiasts consider Martin’s Bar-B-Que one of the best in the city. Owner Pat Martin takes his food and whole-hog style approach seriously, with an emphasis on cooking and preparing everything fresh on a daily basis, with the exception of the barbecue, which smokes a day ahead in the Pit Room. The menu features BBQ sandwiches, burgers, wings, salads, sides and more. See the menu.
