Sisters Alexis Soler and Britt Soler bring us one of the most anticipated openings of the year — Old Glory. The new bar and restaurant officially opens to the public on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Edgehill Village. Nashville Guru got a look inside the revitalized space.

Old Glory’s Interior

Old Glory is in a 1920s boiler room once used by White Way Cleaners in Edgehill Village (a little history here). The Soler sisters didn’t expect their new project to be in Edgehill Village, but they were pleasantly surprised when they saw the unpolished space. “When we walked in here, we knew this was it,” recalls Alexis. “We were both silent, but we knew what each other was thinking, like most sisters do.”

Instead of getting rid of the organic elements of the building, they incorporated them in the design. Major original components include exposed brick, large blocks of cement, a towering smokestack, and high ceilings. With the addition of custom aspects like a sweeping staircase, a cement bar, OG-tiled walls, cozy booths, and two other levels overlooking the room, Old Glory has unmatched character.

Old Glory has seating for about 80 people. There is also ample standing room.

Old Glory’s Menu

Old Glory has a full bar with an emphasis on specialty cocktails. Food options lean towards small-plate options like escabeche, smoked baby potatoes, a house lox plate, and a house meat plate. Happy hour specials may come in the near future, too.

Old Glory’s Exterior (And How To Find It)

Old Glory has been a hush-hush project from the get-go, and the hope is to maintain its elusiveness. The entrance, marked with a large golden triangle, is through an alleyway behind the building. There currently isn’t any signage, and Alexis says there may never be. “We’re still undecided on a sign. We’ll either just leave it or go all-out with a neon glowing sign,” she said laughingly. While there is a door from inside, patrons won’t be able to enter through it. Entering through the alley is important because it allows patrons to make a grand entrance down the winding staircase.

Directions: Make your way to Edgehill Village at 1200 Villa Place. Go to the alleyway behind Taco Mamacita, seen here on Google Maps. Look for the golden triangle around a black door at Suite 103.
