Proper Bagel is the newest craze on Belmont Boulevard. The new eatery and market soft opened to the public on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Nashvillians have been lining up day-after-day to get a taste of a *proper* New York-style bagel. We got in line to get a sneak peek and taste, too.
Inside Proper Bagel
The space is contemporary and sleek, with a black and white theme throughout. The front room is the place to be, with ample natural light and two and four-top tables. There’s also a large community table and additional seating in the main room. The display case is eye-catching and builds your appetite while waiting to order.
Proper Bagel Menu
While the name hints at bagels, Proper Bagel also serves a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, soups and pastries. See the soft opening menu below. If you’re going strictly for bagels, though, your options currently include: plain, everything, sesame, bialys, kale, spinach, spinach everything, poppy, pumpernickel, Russian pumpernickel, cinnamon raisin, dark rye, onion, and salt.
