While we love all the fine-dining restaurants coming to Nashville, sometimes it’s nice to kick-back at a casual neighborhood joint like Double Dogs, the newest bar and restaurant opening on Monday April, 20, 2015. Double Dogs, which has two other locations in Bowling Green and Knoxville, is a family-friendly restaurant located at the corner of 21st Avenue South and Acklen Avenue in Hillsboro Village.
The space has a casual, energetic atmosphere with high ceilings and garage doors opening to 21st Avenue. With 35 televisions, including a nine-screen projector, Double Dogs is going to be one of the best places to watch sports in Nashville. Seating options include booths, bar stools and tables inside. The patio has several two-top tables and eight stationary bar seats facing the indoor bar.
The menu features food you want while enjoying a beer and watching your favorite team on the big screen. Menu items include salads, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, wings, chicken fingers, and hot dogs. There are plenty of starters, too, like the buffalo chicken mac ‘n cheese and Bo’s dog bowl nachos. You can view the menu here.
Double Dogs has a full bar, including 18 beers on draft and about 60 bottled beers. There’s a substantial selection of craft brews, including some local drafts from Yazoo and Blackstone. Make sure to ask about the “Beer of the Week,” which features one 22-ounce domestic beer and one 22-ounce craft beer for $2.95. And of course, the best time to visit is during happy hour. Happy hour is 3pm to 7pm Monday through Friday, which currently features $3.95 well drinks and $2.25 domestic beer bottles.
If you want a laid-back local place to hangout, watch TV, and enjoy food ‘n brews, Double Dogs is it.
