Party Fowl - Gulch - Nashville-20

Hot chicken, local brews, and live music — that’s what Party Fowl is all about. This cleverly-named bar and restaurant is the newest addition in the Gulch near Jackalope Brewery and across the street from Flyte. Their first day open to the public was Sunday, September 28th.

Nick Jacobson (360 Bistro) and Austin Smith are the founders of Party Fowl. As the menu states, you can expect to “enjoy a mouthful of the South.” The cuisine focuses primarily on hot and Southern fried chicken, hence the inclusion of “fowl” in the name. If you like Southern-inspired chicken dishes, this is going to be your new favorite place. We hear the Fried Chicken Liver Bam Bam is a good choice for lunch or dinner, and the Hot Chicken and Stuffed French Toast is a must-try during brunch.

The drink menu is full of options, including 58 wines, craft beer, non-craft beer, specialty cocktails, punches and shots. For the local beer lovers, there are 20 local beers on draft including Yazoo, TN Brew Works, Jackalope, Black Abbey, Turtle Anarchy, Hap and Harry’s, Fat Bottom, Little Harpeth and Mayday. For the less crafty beer drinkers, there are plenty of other options like Old Style, PBR and Guinness. Non-beer drinkers can get specialty drinks like the Smoked Margarita or get adventurous with the Party Fowl Sipper punch.

Party Fowl has two main sections separated by a few stairs leading up to the second section. The lower section has a bar, seven TVs, hand-crafted tables and chairs, a stage, and a small patio. The upper section is “The Coop,” with high ceilings, a bar, numerous TVs, and additional seating. You’ll notice a lot of natural light due to the see-through garage doors, which you see in many Nashville restaurants. Party Fowl’s garage doors have one important touch, though — screens! You get the fresh, outdoor breeze without the bugs.

Though it’s not technically a sports bar, it’s a great place to watch sports. They have one of most intuitive TV and audio systems in the city, making it easy to switch between games quickly. Get a bucket of beer with some friends, order some grub, and watch almost any game.
