NOTE: Union Common is out of business. This article is for reference only.

Union Common opens Monday, August 18th in Midtown. Reservations are now available on Open Table. This new swanky steakhouse is located in a great spot at the corner of Broadway and Division next door to Two Boots. We got a chance to see the finished space, and they’re ready for you! Check out all the photos and descriptions below.

The decor is trendy, upscale, and inviting. There is a huge, 27-seat bar when you walk through the front door, which, unlike many bars, is not first-come, first-served — you need to be seated by the hostess or make a reservation beforehand. Dark tables and plush booths fill the back of the restaurant, where the majority of patrons will enjoy their dishes.

Executive chef Bobby Benjamin walked us through the social concept menu that offers small and shared plates. You can see their menu here. Although Union Common is a steakhouse, there is a huge focus on seafood. We’re pretty excited about the “seafood tower,” which has oysters, crabs, lobster, shrimp and more for the table to share. You can get an all-natural “Big Mac” and spicy chicken sweetbreads, or choose from a variety of steak sizes and cuts, some of which are ideal for sharing. Desserts are small, but satisfying. Ten ice cream flavors are available, if you’d like to end your meal with an ice cream cone. Bobby emphasized there are no preservatives in their cuisine. Gluten-free options are also available.

The bar menu features over 100 bourbons and whiskeys and over 40 handpicked wines.
