312 Pizza Company - Nashville, TN - Germantown-17

312 Pizza Company is one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2014, and it’s official — they open to the public Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 11am to 9pm. For the week of April 27th, they will open daily at 4pm, and then begin normal hours the following week.

If you’re familiar with the area code 312, you’re probably no stranger to Chicago cuisine (and if you’re a 615er, you’re in for a treat). Chicagoans take their food seriously, especially when it comes to pizza. Who is more suitable to open a Chicago-style pizza place than a Chicago family with their own pizza recipes?

Staci Bockman, Daniel Bockman, Stormy Wolff, Bill Wolff, and Kimberly Wolff are the family members behind 312 Pizza Company, the first authentic Chicago-style pizza place in Nashville. They have been perfecting their family pizza recipe for three generations, and they are ready for Nashvillians to give it a try.

Their pizza recipe has been tested and perfected over the years, which was passed down by their grandmother. They want their pizza to stand-up to any other Chicago-style pizza, even if they were opening on the streets of Chicago instead of the streets of Nashville. “We’d open the same place and serve the same food even if we were in Chicago,” said Staci.

The pizza was fantastic, including the thin, cracker-crust pizza, which is sliced in squares instead of wedges (also called the Chicago cut). The thin crust was as tasty as the deep dish.

Staci expressed the thin crust pizza shouldn’t be overlooked, saying, “Back home we’d eat deep dish pizza every once in a while, and sometimes we’d eat the thin crust pizza a few times a week!”

312 Pizza Company also has a wide-variety of other dishes, including Chicago dogs, sandwiches, Italian beef, and appetizers like wings, bruschetta, and arancini. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options, too. Click here to view the 312 Pizza Company menu.

We love that the beer list includes something from almost every local brewery, including Yazoo, Fat Bottom, Jackalope, Blackstone, and Black Abbey, plus Chicago favorites Finch’s and Goose Island. And if you are craving an Old Style during the Cubs game, they’ll have that, too.

They are located at the corner of Monroe Street and 4th Avenue North in the Germantown neighborhood, which Staci said, “feels like a Chicago neighborhood, especially with the parallel parking.” Our taste-test verified we can just make the short trip to Germantown instead of the 7-hour drive to Chicago for a slice of authentic Chicago-style pizza.

FYI: Make sure to bring some of your Chicago memorabilia (Cubs’ ticket stub, postcards, etc) for the Chicago wall collage — there’s still some open space to fill!
