Puesto opens Friday, October 23, 2026, at Nashville Yards in Downtown Nashville. The family-owned Mexican restaurant started as a taco stand in San Diego in 2012 and has grown to eight locations in California, plus stadium outposts. Nashville is the first Puesto outside the state. The restaurant is run by brothers Alex, Eric, and Alan Adler and their cousins Isidoro and Moy Lombrozo, first-generation Mexican Americans who built the menu around family recipes and Mexico City street food. Isidoro went to Vanderbilt, which is a big part of why Nashville was picked for the first out-of-state location. Nashville Guru stopped by ahead of opening to get a first look inside.
The Interior
The design, done with local firm Powell, incorporates bright color, Aztec-inspired woodwork, textured art, and murals that run along the walls. The bar is built around a floor-to-ceiling tequila wall, and a tortillero station sits by the bar where tortilleras hand-press Puesto’s signature blue corn tortillas. Seating is a mix of booths, high tops, standard tables, and family-style tables spread across several dining areas, with plant installations and oversized light fixtures overhead. There’s also a stage for live music and a private dining room for groups, with total capacity of around 380.
The Exterior
Puesto sits at the corner of Exchange Lane and Platform Way at Nashville Yards, with the main entrance on Exchange Lane. The patio out front has a retractable roof and walls, making it the perfect all-weather patio. There are also two other patio areas.
The most convenient parking is the Nashville Yards East Garage.
The Menu
The food menu is built around the blue corn tortillas, made from organic fresh masa and pressed by hand. Taco plates come three to an order and can be mixed and matched. Popular tacos include Chicken Al Pastor, Filet Mignon with pistachio serrano salsa, and crispy Tamarindo Shrimp. The Lava Stone Tablitas are the big-ticket items, served sizzling with tortillas on the side. These are available as an 18oz Ribeye, a Bone-In Short Rib with braised birria, or a Filet Mignon. To start, there are several guacamoles, including the Nogada with pomegranate, mango pico, and walnuts, along with ceviches on blue corn tostadas like the Passionfruit and Mango Shrimp. Churros with Mexican chocolate and coffee dulce de leche sauces are the dessert to get.
The drink menu is tequila-focused. The Puesto Perfect margarita is the house standard, and the list runs through a Mango margarita, the Fruit Cart Nash with mango, pineapple, watermelon, cucumber, chamoy, and Tajín, and the premium Pink Cadillac. A set of Cymbiotika cocktails is made with the wellness brand’s supplements, like the Mar Verde with kiwi, cilantro, and sea moss. House-made agua frescas, including passionfruit, watermelon, pineapple, and horchata, round out the non-alcoholic side.
