Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, the award-winning burger joint out of New York City, officially opened its first southern U.S. outpost in Downtown Nashville on May 10, 2023. The casual joint, which is located just a short distance from Lower Broadway, serves up craft burgers, wings, salads, draft beer, creative cocktails, and their picturesque CrazyShake® milkshakes. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside the popular spot, which currently has 4.6 stars from over 300 Google reviewers.
The Interior
Black Tap’s 90s-inspired interior spans 4,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 145 guests. There’s a milkshake bar, a main dining room, a bar area, and a private dining section. The walls are decorated with graffiti, cassette tapes, and photos of iconic 90s artists, while the speakers pump singalongs from the era.
The private dining area, pictured above and below, can accommodate up to 40 guests.
The Exterior
Black Tap is located on the corner of Commerce Street and 3rd Avenue North, just a short walk from Downtown’s most popular areas, including Lower Broadway, Printers Alley, and 2nd Avenue. There’s a paid parking garage right across the street, plus many other parking options in the area.
The Menu
The menu features a variety of burger joint classics, including craft burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches, wings, and snacks like fried mozz and hot fried pickles. The Tennessee Burger, which is only available at the Nashville location, features a prime burger, Jack Daniel’s red pepper jam, diced pickles, dirty’s sweet potato chips, white BBQ sauce, and chopped parsley.
The beverage program includes everything from local draft beers to innovative cocktails to frozen concoctions like the Black Tap Bushwacker. Nashville is also the first Black Tap location to offer Shake Shots, a rotating selection of boozy mini milkshake shots.
One of Black Tap’s biggest attractions is their world-famous, photo-worthy CrazyShake® milkshakes. The Cakeshake® (a cake batter shake with vanilla frosted rim with rainbow sprinkles topped with a Funfetti cake slice, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles & a cherry) is a must-try.
