Joe Muer Seafood, an iconic Detroit-based restaurant, officially opened in the Capitol View neighborhood on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. This upscale eatery serves fresh, sustainable seafood flown in from around the globe, premium aged meats, delicious sushi, and award-winning wine. The Nashville outpost is led by Certified Master Chef Daniel Scannell and Chef Jim Oppat. Guests can expect nightly live piano music and happy hour on the weekdays. The Interior
The interior at Joe Muer Seafood is 12,000 square feet and can seat more than 200 guests throughout the main dining room, central bar, and private dining areas. The space is thoughtfully designed with black and white flooring, plush velvet booths, bright red carpeting, and luxurious gold detailing. The theme carries into the photo-worthy restrooms that feature lobster-pattered wallpaper and gold faucets.
The Exterior
Joe Muer Seafood is situated in the growing Capitol View district, which is close to the Gulch, Germantown, and Downtown Nashville. This new eatery neighbors popular retailers and restaurants such as M.L.Rose, Clean Juice, Club Pilates, Drybar, and HOTBOX.
When weather permits, guests can dine on one of the exterior patios, which can accommodate up to 80 guests. There is free street parking and garage parking located close by.

Joe Muer Seafood’s Nashville menu incorporates Southern flavor into its popular dishes with local ingredients and regional cooking styles. Must-try entrees include the Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp (crab imperial, hush puppies, zesty zip sauce), George’s Bank Sea Scallops (whipped potatoes, green goddess butter, toasted muddica), and the Miso Glazed Sea Bass Poke Bowl (sushi rice, avocado, red cabbage, kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, radishes, creamy wasabi).
