Church and Union, a lively restaurant from the acclaimed Charlotte and Charleston-based 5th Street Group, officially opens on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 5:00pm in Downtown Nashville. Church and Union marks the fifth concept from the restaurant group and its first in Tennessee. Guests can expect craft cocktails, an expansive list of wine and beer, and a playful approach to New American cuisine created by 5th Street Group partner and two-time Top Chef Alum Jamie Lynch and Chef Adam Hodgson. The Interior
Church and Union’s 5,902-square-foot interior is sleek and upscale with standout art, including a hand-painted ceiling by artist Jon Norris that displays all 11,450 words of Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” as well as 5th Street Group’s signature five-dollar bill painting by artists Matt Hooker and Rodney Raines. There’s seating for 134 guests plus 28 seats at the impressive concrete bar. Other spatial highlights include camel velvet banquettes, fresh floral arrangements, and beautiful chandeliers.
The Exterior
Guests can soak up the city’s energy on the outdoor patio facing 4th Avenue, which seats approximately 14.
The Menu
Under the creative direction of Chef Jamie Lynch and Chef Adam Hodgson, the cuisine delivers. The menu focuses on New American dishes, including starters like Burrata and F.O. Agnolotti and more robust items like the C&U Seafood Tower, Kurobuta Pork Chop, and Homemade Tagliatelle. The restaurant will start exclusively with dinner service.
