A Look Inside: Sidebar

January 27, 2022 | Advertising Disclosure | Our Partners may be mentioned in this article.

Sidebar is one of Nashville’s hidden gems located at Bode on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Korean Veterans Boulevard in the SoBro neighborhood. The carport was transformed into a self-described “good time parlor” with a focus on craft cocktails, cold beer, and live entertainment, including music and comedy. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside the laidback space.

The Interior

The interior of Sidebar has a rugged ambiance with an eclectic mix of worn furniture, vintage Americana trinkets, and walls filled with art, photography, and posters. There’s a central bar where about a dozen guests can watch the bartender mix drinks. On select nights, expect musicians performing on the cozy indoor stage.

The Exterior

Step outside the doors of Sidebar to a sprawling outdoor courtyard. People can gather around the fire pit, play a round of Giant Jenga, or get a photo in front of the 615 or Die mural by Nash TN.

The Menu

Sidebar’s beverage program, curated by Meg Hoberg in collaboration with New School, focuses on a mix of well-known classics and seasonally-inspired libations. Cocktails include options like Wallflower (gin, bergamot, jasmine, lemon, angostura, egg white, hibiscus tea) and Dark Island Daiquiri (pineapple rum, black peppercorn, lime, allspice). There are four beers on draft, including the watering hole’s very own Sidebar Blonde created by East Nashville Beer Works. Wines by the glass and a selection of canned and bottled beers are also available.

On the food side, expect bar bites like Nashville hot fries, a Bavarian soft pretzel, and buffalo chicken dip. Be sure to check out the local meat and cheese charcuterie board, too!
