East Side Banh Mi, created by husband and wife duo chef Grace Nguyen and chef Chad Newton, officially opens Thursday, August 13, 2020, in East Nashville. The fast-causal restaurant specializes in Vietnamese-style bánh mì sandwiches, salads, and bowls that are created with locally-sourced ingredients and made using authentic family recipes. Nashville Guru stopped by to get the look inside.

The Interior

The new 1,200-square-foot restaurant features a modern, bright, and colorful interior. In support of sustainability, all plate wear was created by local artisan RV Pottery.

The Exterior

Free parking is available in front of the restaurant and on select side streets within the surrounding area.

The Menu

At East Side Banh Mi guests can expect authentic cuisine and locally-sourced ingredients. Some of their local partners include Bear Creek Farm, Giffords Smoked Meats, Bloomsbury Farm, and Nguyen Coffee Supply. Pictured above is the broken rice bowl with lemongrass chicken and a crispy pork stick, the pork bánh mì served on a fresh house baked baguette, and the shrimp & pork spring rolls. Pair any meal with a toasted peanut rice milk or Vietnamese iced coffee. See the full menu.
