Virago is a sushi and Asian restaurant from M Street Entertainment Group on McGavock Street in the Gulch, part of the group’s M Street lineup alongside Saint Añejo, Kayne Prime, and MOTO. One of the city’s longest-running independent sushi spots, Virago moved next door to 1120 McGavock Street with a redesigned space that includes secluded booths, private dining rooms, and a late-night lounge. Sushi Chef Himmi, who has led the kitchen for more than 15 years, oversees the makimono and nigiri menu, and the bar carries Asian-inspired cocktails along with one of the largest Japanese whiskey and sake selections in Nashville.
