About Walk Eat Nashville:
Walk Eat Nashville is a locally-owned company, founded by Karen-Lee Ryan, offering neighborhood walking and eating tours. They currently offer three tours in different neighborhoods including East Nashville, Midtown/Vanderbilt, and SoBro/Downtown. Each tour is three hours and has five to six stops. You will walk about a mile and a half and the tours max-out at 12 people.
The guide will tell you all about each restaurant as well as the history of the neighborhood and various buildings. You will have a chance to talk to the owner or chef at most of the stops. This is a wonderful option if you want to learn more about Nashville while trying delicious food from several well-known restaurants.
Walk Eat Nashville Experience:
Nashville Guru got a chance to attend a Walk Eat Nashville tour in East Nashville. It was impressive, to say the least. Our stops included: Five Points Pizza, Marche, Walker Creek Confections, Lockeland Table, Pied Piper Creamery, and Chocolate F/X. We also received a Professor Bailey’s Spicy Pimento Cheese on a Spicy Pimento Cheese Biscuit along the way. The amount of food received was perfect — definitely enough to substitute a full meal.
Not only did we learn about each restaurant and the people behind the establishments, but we got a run-down of the history of East Nashville. From the history of buildings and churches to the overall evolvement of the community over the last 100+ years, we heard insider information and facts. Overall, it was an experience we highly recommend to locals or people visiting from out of town.
