Strategic Hospitality, the group behind Nashville favorites like Pinewood Social and Patterson House, are opening a “New French” restaurant called Le Sel in the former location of The Tippler in the Adelecia condo building. Le Sel opens to the public for dinner on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.

The Cuisine

Chef Rene De Leon, who has more than 16 years of culinary experience, will take the reins of the French-inspired menu.

“Le Sel will offer classic French dishes most people recognize and love,” said De Leon. “There will also be dishes that represent the current style of cuisine that has emerged in France today, consisting of food that is no longer dependent on dairy or sauces made from reducing stocks. Instead the style focuses on making the food delicious while using simplicity in the presentation and preparation.”

“We are honored to work with Rene on this new venture,” said Strategic Hospitality co-owner Max Goldberg. “His past experiences are incredible, resulting in a leader in the kitchen and in the culinary world, and we’re so happy to have him in Nashville.”

The main floor of Le Sel will serve lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The menu will feature thoughtful French food, including a variety of salads, oysters, caviar and seafood.

The Main Dining Room

The main dining room was designed by Nashville-based designer Benjamin Vandiver. The room’s color palette revolves around shades of red, pink and salmon, which is immediately noticeable in the eye-catching salmon-colored booths.

“Le Sel is our interpretation of a French restaurant,” said Benjamin Goldberg, co-owner of Strategic Hospitality. “Both the food and the atmosphere are created to feel traditional and familiar, yet with a very playful and forward-thinking vibe.”
