Adele's Nashville - Jonathan Waxman-1

The restaurant growth in Nashville is impressive lately, and so is the competition. When a celebrity chef like Jonathan Waxman moves in, it’s time to pay attention, especially if you’re a restauranteur.

Waxman, a top contender on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, is the newest restauranteur to embrace the Gulch neighborhood for his Nashville venture. His new restaurant, Adele’s, is located across from Virago in the previous location of Ultimate Tire and Car Care. With other popular restaurants nearby like Whiskey Kitchen and Moto, along with the close proximity to nearby condos like Twelve Twelve and The Icon, Adele’s is perfectly situated for a successful future.

The space has been completely transformed from an auto repair shop to an open and urban restaurant with high ceilings and ample natural light. On nice days, the garage doors can open to let in the outside breeze. We like the simple, yet sophisticated atmosphere, especially the light teal bar stools, which add a soft touch to the industrial surroundings.

There is plenty of seating with a variety of four-tops, long tables, and an outdoor patio. There are two bars, one facing the kitchen and another on the lower level. Both bars are expected to have a first-come-first-serve seating policy.

The restaurant and cuisine are an ode to Waxman’s mother, who had a passion for food. The menu includes dishes like gnocchi with summer squash, cherry tomatoes, and pesto, and JW’s special chicken, local kale, and green sauce. You can get speciality cocktails, wine, and beer, including local drafts from Jackalope, Little Harpeth Brewing Co, and Turtle Anarchy. The dessert menu includes a hot fudge brownie sundae, german chocolate cake, and buttersotch pudding, just to name a few.
