Moto is the newest restaurant to hit McGavock Street in the Gulch. The team at MStreet has done it again with this gorgeous, new Italian restaurant in Nashville. In case you need a refresher, MStreet also brought us Virago, Whiskey Kitchen, Kayne Prime, Tavern and most recently, Saint Anejo. Moto’s Italian cuisine is something unique to the street, complimenting the existing Asian, Mexican, and American options.

When you walk in Moto, you’re amazed that the space nestled between Virago and Saint Anejo can be so spacious. The front window is huge, letting in a lot of natural light and allowing diners to keep an eye on what’s going on out front. The walls are lined with MStreet’s signature wraparound booths that make you feel like you’re the only party in the restaurant. There are also high tables in front and low tables in the back by the kitchen. The bar is enormous and nicely adjoins the front and back of the restaurant.

The “chef’s room” will be available for parties up to 14, and a separate room in the back of the restaurant will be available for parties up to 36 people.

Chef’s room:

The Executive Chef at Moto is Andy Hayes, and the menu focus is authentic Italian cuisine. We got a chance to talk to him about the best dishes on the menu. We were told two must-tries are the blueberry lasagna with wild mushrooms and blueberry balsamic ($19) and the gnocchi with salsify, green apple and fonduta ($14).

Wine selection is a very important aspect of Moto. There will be 250 labels and a rotating selection of 30 wines by the glass. Half of the wines will be authentic Italian labels. The bar will also make limoncello in-house and serve fancy cocktails.
