Fort Louise closed on January 3, 2019.

Fort Louise, a neighborhood-focused restaurant from Jessica Bower and chef Greg Biggers, opens in the Inglewood area of East Nashville on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 5pm. Guests can expect a fresh spin on American comfort cuisine in a cozy setting. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside the remodeled space.

The Interior

Fort Louise is located in a 1,400-square-foot home next door to Mitchell Deli in the Riverside Village area. The main restaurant section is in a single room with an open floor plan. The space is adorned by mirrors, plants, custom patterns, and a towering brick fireplace in the center of the room. Booth seating wraps around the entire space accompanied by tables and chairs. There’s capacity for approximately 40 guests inside.

The Exterior

Fort Louise’s residential exterior gives off the “dinner party” vibe, which continues as you walk through the front door. If there’s a wait, patrons have plenty of standing room outside on the covered front porch. The large, open-air patio around back is sure to be a popular spot when the weather is nice, too.

The Menu

The chef-driven, American restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Guests can expect menu items like salads, burgers, ribs, and steak. Fort Louise will also have a full bar including wine, beer, and specialty cocktails.

“It’s no secret my background is focused in fine-dining,” Alabama-native Chef Biggers said. “I’m ready to try something a little different, something much more personal to me. I’ve been buttoned up throughout my career, but now I’m ready to loosen things up a bit. Fort Louise is a true reflection of my style, using everything I’ve learned along the way.”

The Details

“We’re pouring a lot of thought, heart and soul into this concept,” says Bower. “When you come to Fort Louise, we want it to feel like you’re heading to a friend’s home for a dinner party. It’s warm, intimate and cozy—a perfect place to enjoy great food and really fun cocktails.”
