Sun Diner Café, a 24-hour diner, is opening Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 105 3rd Avenue South next door to the Johnny Cash Museum in SoBro. TC Restaurant Group and Sun Records have joined forces to create this around-the-clock diner that pays homepage to Sun Records’ legendary artists, including Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. TC Restaurant Group is also behind several other downtown hotspots, including Crazy Town, Luigi’s Pizza, and Tequila Cowboy.


The Interior

Sun Diner Café has an open floor plan featuring three peninsula-shaped bars, 36 stools, and two back booths. Guests can see what’s cooking in the kitchen or watch TV. The sun-yellow walls are covered with photos of Sun Records’ famous artists. The rooster from the Sun Records logo plays an integral part in the décor, including a wall painting and several statues throughout the space. Guests can also purchase t-shirts and other Sun Records merchandise.

Sun Diner Café is situated between the Johnny Cash Museum and Luigi’s Pizza. It has a rustic, red exterior and a large Sun Diner light in the window.

The 24-hour diner offers a variety of breakfast classics, burgers, and sides. Menu items include options like the Hangover Flatbread, breakfast tacos, “Feelin’ Good” breakfast burger, and Bananas Foster’s Pancakes. See the menu.
