The Hart, a tropical restaurant and bar concept from Hawaiian native Justin Koziol, opens to the public on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood. The Hart is located inside BentoLiving hotel and next door to the former home of B1281. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside.

The Interior

The 1,700-square-foot restaurant has a wrap-around bar in the center, a semi-private dining space, and a variety of table seating. There’s an eye-catching stage overhead filled with live plants where musical acts perform. Many of the seats are cleverly made from milk crates, a nod to BentoLiving’s dedication to sustainability.

The Exterior

The Hart is located on the corner of Hart Street and 3rd Avenue South in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood, just a short distance from Wedgewood-Houston. There is paid onsite parking as well as a limited number of street spots. There’s a small exterior patio, which guests can enjoy on warmer days.

The Menu

The Hart’s menu, spearheaded by Chef Mike Gibson, focuses on popular island dishes. The culinary team participated in a rigorous education process in Hawaii in order to deliver top-notch traditional cuisine. Menu items include smoked tako poutine, ahi club sandwiches, and whole grilled snapper. On the beverage side, there are six local beers on draft, umami-infused cocktails, and elevated twists on popular Asian drinks.
