A Willy Wonka-like experience has arrived in downtown Nashville. Goo Goo Chocolate Co., home of Goo Goo Cluster, officially unveils its new experiential space to the public on November 5, 2021 at 10:00am. The storefront has undergone a $2 million transformation featuring Design Your Own Confection Stations, a full-service Chocolate Bar, and a 500-square-foot classroom. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside the sweet destination.

The Interior

Known as America’s first combination candy bar, the Goo Goo Cluster dates back to 1912. The newly imagined concept combines historical elements with modern technology. The space is designed to look like a chocolate factory with chocolate-covered light fixtures, a running conveyor belt, and imitation pipes and vats filled with Goo Goo’s original ingredients. Children will especially love some of the interactive elements, such as pushable buttons, turnable wheels, rotatable tiles with quiz questions, and a child-sized window peering into the back classroom where a variety of classes are offered. There are three Design Your Own Confection Stations, where guests can create their own Goo Goo Cluster that’s created on-the-spot, plus a Chocolate Bar and retail section.

The Menu & Experience

The highlight of Goo Goo Chocolate Co. is the ability for guests to create their own Goo Goo Cluster on-site, which is made within about 5-10 minutes. There are three Design Your Own Confection Stations as well as Goo Goo associates available to help with the process. Similar to a fast-casual restaurant, the Goo Goo team will blend guests’ handpicked ingredients, drizzle the chocolate, then rapidly freeze the treat so it can be enjoyed minutes later.

The Chocolate Bar menu includes premium chocolates, wine and whiskey pairings, boozy milkshakes, and a selection of seasonal treats. Visitors can also purchase a variety of Goo Goo’s signature products from the retail section.

The Exterior

Goo Goo Chocolate Co. is located on 3rd Avenue in the SoBro area of Downtown Nashville, just a short walk from Lower Broadway. The new exterior has a “Goo Goo Chocolate Co.” sign and a freshly-painted entrance. The original rotating sign remains, which is a popular photo op with the Batman building in the background. The Goo Goo door handles are definitely worth noting, too!

The Details

Goo Goo Chocolate Co. is one of Downtown Nashville’s freshest and funnest options right now. Be sure to make a visit, whether you’re a local or just stopping through!
