Blanco Cocina + Cantina, a Sonoran-style Mexican restaurant, officially opened at Fifth + Broadway on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Nashville marks the eighth outpost for the concept, which is the brainchild of renowned restauranteur Sam Fox. The standalone restaurant is situated directly on Broadway across from Bridgestone Arena. Nashville Guru stopped by to get a look inside.

The Interior

The 5,000-square-foot restaurant is bright, vibrant, and full of texture, including a stone wall, an intricate wood ceiling, and fabric booths. There are group tables in the front as well as two- and four-top tables along the side wall. Grab a leather stool at the centrally-located bar and order a round of mezcal flights.

The Exterior

Blanco is located directly across from Bridgestone Arena, making it an ideal destination for dinner and drinks before or after an event. Garage parking is available at Fifth + Broadway—just take the elevator up and walk straight over to Blanco’s entrance on Broadway.

The Menu

Executive chef Justin Eaton spearheads the fresh Mexican menu. Chimichangas are a fan favorite, which are available with four different filling options: Short rib machaca, braised chicken, ground beef, and beans and cheese. Other food highlights include the Tiger Shrimp Fajitas and Baja Breakfast Burrito.

On the beverage side, there’s everything from wine to cervezas to tequila. Be sure to try the jalapeño and pineapple margarita and the strawberry and habanero margarita!
